Legal help, without the jargon.
A solicitors’ practice in London and Manchester, advising individuals, families and businesses — regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Who we are
Aldgate Chambers Solicitors is a solicitors’ practice with offices in London and Manchester. We are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority under firm number 821470, and have been an authorised practice since February 2022.
Our work covers immigration, family and matrimonial matters, landlord and tenant disputes, civil litigation and welfare benefits. Much of it involves people at a difficult point — a refusal letter, a notice to leave, a marriage ending, a benefit stopped. The common thread is that people want to know two things: where they stand, and what it will cost.
Client care
We are dedicated to providing a professional, efficient service with a strong emphasis on client care. Our team values communication, confidentiality and courtesy, so that you reach your goal as swiftly as possible — and so that the stress of the matter sits with us rather than with you.
What you can expect
- A clear view of your position at the first meeting, including the weaknesses
- The scope of work and the cost agreed in writing before we begin
- Advice in plain English, not legal jargon
- A named solicitor who knows your file
- Being told when a step is not worth the expense
- Being told promptly if an estimate needs to change
How fees work
Most of our work is done for a fixed fee, agreed before we start, so the cost is known rather than open-ended. Where a matter is too unpredictable to fix-price we agree an hourly rate and give you a written estimate, which we keep under review.
Our published fees are set out in full on the fees and transparency page.
Your first appointment
Bring whatever paperwork you have — decision letters, notices, contracts, correspondence — along with photo identification and proof of your address, which we are required to check before we can act.
If a document is missing, come anyway. We would rather see you early with an incomplete file than late with a complete one, because in most of the areas we work in the deadlines are short and unforgiving.
Regulation and the protections it gives you
Instructing a regulated firm gives you protections that unregulated advisers cannot offer:
- Compulsory professional indemnity insurance
- A formal complaints procedure
- Access to the independent Legal Ombudsman
- Client money held under strict SRA rules
- Oversight and enforcement by the SRA
- Solicitors bound by professional conduct rules
You can verify our status on the SRA register, or by clicking the SRA badge at the foot of this page. If something goes wrong, our complaints procedure explains exactly what to do.
Where we work
Our main office is in Ilford, east London, and we have a second office in Manchester. You are welcome at either. Much of our work — particularly immigration and welfare benefits — is handled by telephone, email and video, so you do not always need to travel to us.
Tell us about your matter.
