Fees and transparency

What our services cost and what is included — published in line with the SRA Transparency Rules.

VAT. All fees shown on this page are exclusive of VAT. Where VAT applies it is charged in addition at the prevailing rate, currently 20%. We will confirm the VAT position on your matter in writing before we begin.

How we charge

Most of our work is done for a fixed fee, so you know the cost before we start. Where a matter cannot sensibly be fixed-priced, we will agree an hourly rate with you and give you a written estimate.

Whichever basis applies, we will confirm it in writing at the outset and tell you promptly if anything happens that changes the estimate.

Wills and powers of attorney

Wills and lasting powers of attorney are charged at our standard rates. The cost depends on how straightforward your wishes are, and on whether more than one document is being prepared. We give you a written figure before we begin.

Other work

For family, landlord and tenant, and civil dispute matters, the cost depends heavily on the facts and on how the other side conducts themselves. We will give you a written estimate at the outset and keep it under review. Please contact us for a figure specific to your circumstances.

Who will do the work

Your matter will be handled by a member of our team, each of whom has many years of experience in the areas of law in which we practise. Work is supervised within the firm, and we will tell you at the outset who is dealing with your matter and who supervises them.

Timescales

How long a matter takes depends on the service and on the particular circumstances of your case — and, in many matters, on third parties such as the Home Office, a tribunal, a lender or the other side’s solicitors. We will discuss the likely timescale with you individually and confirm it in writing when we agree the scope of the work, and we will tell you promptly if anything happens that changes it.

Legal aid

We do not hold a legal aid contract. All of our work is privately funded.
